As part of an ongoing study of Purple Sandpipers (Calidris maritima - Sendlinger) in NE Iceland, an international team of ornithologist has been attaching geolocators to birds to track their migration patterns. Note the chicks nestlings under incubating male. Snow Blunting singing in the background.
This male was the 7th sandpiper to get a geolocator this year and the ornithologist plan to add 4 more in the next few days.
