Spoon-billed Sandpipers

As part of an ongoing study of Purple Sandpipers (Calidris maritima - Sendlinger) in NE Iceland, an international team of ornithologist has been attaching geolocators to birds to track their migration patterns. This male was the 7th sandpiper to get a geolocator this year and the ornithologist plan to add 4 more in the next few days.
